Learning Objective:

  • we are learning to solve (geometric) problems using some of Polya's heuristics

Investing:

  • This is useful because often students know the mathematics needed to solve a problem, but just can't get started or see where their knowledge might apply
  • This skill leads to better exam performance: you can use the maths you know to gain marks
  • This could help you if you want to work in almost any non-routine job, since most jobs involve problem-solving
